  1. J.J. Cale - 5 - Lp Vinyl Record J.J. Cale Format: Vinyl. it is prime J.J. Cale. The album just before this one, "Troubador," is my least favorite of the early albums, as it is a little too slick for me. "5" is similar in sound, but a bit punchier, which is a move in the right direction. Another difference here /5().

Cale's "Lies", YIPPIE! which makes this instantly an album you will keep for 1 song only and the rest another not so known song by JJ that got the Glamour treatment (also a song, from the album "Really", so now the happy owners of both can compare them.

  6. Cale's sophomore album from was a logical successor to his outstanding debut. Cale's laid back style was widely appreciated, as evidenced by the radio success of "Lies". This album was recorded in Nashville and at the famed Muscle Shoals Studios in Alabama/5(86).

  8. I'd say that you'd do a lot better by getting "Naturally" and "Really" than any "best of", anthology or live album. Maybe "Troubador" would round it out with "Cocaine", but you start getting away from the real meat of J.J.'s sound and into filler with the other albums. J.J.'s music can be witty, foot-tapping ditties, or can be absolutely boring/5(86).
